Conformal Coating

A conformal coating is a thin polymeric film applied to a printed circuit board (PCB) in order to protect the board and its components from the environment and to prevent corrosion. The film is typically applied at 25-250µm and ‘conforms’ to the shape of the board and its components. It is designed to cover and protect solder joints, the leads of electronic components, exposed traces, and other metallised areas from corrosion, ultimately extending the working life of the PCB.

ACC 13 Synthetic peelable mask is a neutral acrylic latex material formulated as a temporary peelable solder mask designed to withstand fluxing, wave soldering and cleaning operations. Application

Apply directly from the bottle as a thin film (solder mask) or a bead (e.g. protection of connectors during conformal coating. The product may be air cured or heated to 60 or 80C. The product may be thinned with DI water if required.

Suggested thickness 20 – 30 thou / 0.020-0.030 inch / 500 – 750 micron

AFA optically clear acrylic conformal coating ideally suited for use as an LED coating or in other commercial applications to protect the PCB from the environment. While it also provides excellent protection in humid environments, and flexibility over a wide operating temperature range.

Conformal Coating Remover Gel
CCRG01LL

CCRG conformal coating remover gel is a thixotropic gel which has been specifically formulated to remove Electrolube’s solvent resistant coatings: DCA, DCB, DCR, DCRT, DCE, WBP WBPS and PUC.

The product does not contain methylene chloride.

CCRG conformal coating remover gel will not generally damage metals; however, there may be some corrosion on ferrous metals if materials are soaked for prolonged periods.
CCRG will attack several plastics and also remove component identification markings if prolonged exposure is permitted. Where possible, a compatibility test with sensitive plastics should be conducted prior to full-scale use.

A removal solvent (RRS) is also supplied, should a liquid product be required. CCRG is highly flammable so care must be taken when using this material. Refer to the SDS and TDS for additional information.

Peelable Coating Mask 250ml
PCM250ML

PCM peelable coating mask is a flexible, solvent resistant latex for masking components, connectors and other items during a conformal coating process.

PCM ensures that sensitive items and areas requiring further processing are not coated. It is particularly suitable for protecting areas from ingress of conformal coating, e.g. pin connectors, adjustable pots, IC sockets etc. It is also suitable as a spot mask for wave soldering applications. PCM can be applied by hand straight from the bottle or using machine. Once dry, the high film strength of PCM means that it can be peeled off again by hand without breaking or leaving residues.

Polyurethane CONFCOAT - Aerosol 400ml

PUC polyurethane conformal coating is a clear amber modified polyurethane specifically designed for the protection of electronic circuitry. It is a toughand abrasive resistant coating which has excellent mechanical and dielectric properties while maintaining flexibility to protect delicate components.

PUC polyurethane conformal coating can be sprayed, dipped or brushed. The thickness of the coating depends on the method of application (typically 25-75 microns). Temperatures of less than 16°C or relative humidity in excess of 75% are unsuitable for the application of PUC. As is the case for all solvent based conformal coatings, adequate extraction should be used.

UAT Universal Acrylic Conformal Coating Thinners is a high purity solvent blend designed for use with all Electrolube acrylic based coatings. Electrolube coatings suitable for use with UAT are:

The primary use of UAT is to dilute coatings for use in dip and spray coating applications however it can be used to clean coating equipment which has been used with the above coatings.
